Neil brings over 35 years of hands-on experience building software and hardware products to Shasta. An omnivorous technologist and inveterate tinkerer, Neil loves finding elegant solutions for challenging problems and building teams to bring them to life.
Most recently, he was CTO of R-Zero Systems, where he led the design and development of IoT infrastructure and applications and 4 UVC Disinfection hardware products that won several IDSA and Red Dot awards. Previously, Neil led technology and architecture at Blue Bottle Coffee, where he led the development of their iconic Dripper, Website, and several advanced coffee products; Dr. Consulta (Brazil's Premier Health Tech company), where he led product and engineering for their EMR and clinical systems; Shutterfly, where he reimagined their 20+ Petabyte Storage Infrastructure, eCommerce Infrastructure and Photobooks Imaging Pipeline; and lead the development and launch of Walmart.com. He's also started or been a founding member of several companies, including Homewarehouse.com, Mediamaster.com, and Perfect Coffee.
Additionally, Neil is a dedicated backcountry skier, barista, musician and windsurfer.
